This past month Andrew and I have been re-decorating the apartment, and because we are on a very tight budget we've been force to use imagination, and improvisation. So we finally decided to paint the walls on our bed/living room, we already had the color, which is a light mocha, it really makes a difference, this color makes the apartment feel very zen.
I painted a box of cookies I got for Christmas with the leftover paint I used for the entrance which is a bluish green, printed "Take-out Menu's" and glued four of them on the cover of the box. I like the way it looks in the kitchen, it gives it a sense of organization.
I also printed "CHANGE, Lets save up for something good" and glued it to a Jar I bought in Ikea a long time ago. Its really good for when you come home and the extra change like pennies, nickels, dimes, etc. Trust me you'll need it when you least expect it!
Andrew got a couple of really nice candles from the store he works at, and put them all over the apartment. I think the best thing is when you go into someone's apartment and it smells good, it feels clean and makes me what to be there, otherwise its uncomfortable and annoying.
My mom had that lamp laying in her garage and I took it because we really dont get much light, and because I dont have a side table I placed it on top of a couple of books, this gives the place a more artsy feel, specially because the floors are cement.
And finally, the desk and bookshelf were given to us by my step-brothers mom, she recently moved and was going to give them away. They really picked up the place! They are sleek and fit perfectly in to our tiny apartment.
I cant wait to get a couple new stuff, a sofa is the next thing we are saving for. I am really excited!!!
